Band-saw Box
For my third project of the semester (Intro to Design), we had to create a band-saw box designed to hold an item that had significance to us.
I chose a canning funnel, more because of its symbolic meaning to me, than other types of value. It has meaning to me, because I used to try hard not to fit into traditional gender roles. Over the years however, I realized that the stereotypes of enjoying cooking, care-giving and taking care of a home actually really fit me.
I guess there is a more complex layer to this project, because I was using woodworking tools, which is traditionally a male-dominated pastime. I really enjoyed making it though, and I was really satisfied with how it turned out!

Chair Drawing
For our second project of the semester, I had to create a chair out of cardboard. Lets just say, it didn't turn out so well! During the class critique the teacher had a girl sit on it and it broke right then and there!
My drawing of the chair turned out better, luckily. I had to create a drawing of the chair in an environment. I created a line drawing on the computer, then printed it out and added value with pencil.

Photo-collage
For this collage I combined 70+ photographs to create one large, surreal image.
